One account ties your Discord identity to the Steam account you use in The Isle. The Cult Overlay, The Cult Voice and future dino storage can then recognise the same player.

We request only your Discord identity and SteamID64—no Discord email, messages, guild list or Steam password. Steam authentication happens on Steam's own site. Your linked account, Mumble and The Cult Voice are required while playing; only the Overlay is optional.

01Close Mumble

If Mumble is already open, quit it completely before you start. The plugin can't install into a running client.

02Install the plugin

Install The Cult Voice.
Don't have Mumble yet? Get Mumble first, then come back.

03Turn the plugin on

Open Mumble, then go to Configure → Settings → Plugins.
Tick The Cult Voice, and untick any other Isle proximity plugin.
Press Apply, then OK. Restart Mumble if it asks.

04Add our server

Go to Server → Connect → Add New and fill in:
Label: The Cult
Address: mumble.islecult.com
Port: 64738
Username: anything you like.

05Connect and link

Connect to The Cult. A page opens in your browser — click Link proximity voice and you're done.

01Check your Mumble

Run mumble --version. You need 1.4 or newer — plugins did not exist before that, so on older Mumble ours cannot appear at all.
Mint and Ubuntu often ship 1.3. If so, install a current one:
flatpak install flathub info.mumble.Mumble

02Close Mumble

Quit it completely. The installer stops and tells you if Mumble is still running.

03Install the plugin

In a terminal:
curl -L -o the-cult-voice.sh https://islecult.com/downloads/voice/installer/linux
sh the-cult-voice.sh
Don't pipe it into a shell, and don't use sudo — it installs into your own Mumble folder.

04Turn the plugin on

Open Mumble, then go to Configure → Settings → Plugins.
Tick The Cult Voice, and untick any other Isle proximity plugin.
Press Apply, then OK.

05Add our server

Go to Server → Connect → Add New and fill in:
Label: The Cult
Address: mumble.islecult.com
Port: 64738
Username: anything you like.

06Connect and link

Connect to The Cult. A page opens in your browser — click Link proximity voice.
Nothing opened? You need sudo apt install curl xdg-utils.
Stuck? Read the full Linux guide.

Keep it running: stay connected to The Cult on Mumble with the plugin enabled while you play. You can change your Mumble name whenever you like — you'll only be asked to link again if you replace Mumble's certificate.
